چکیده

Detailed knowledge of the behaviour rocks under thermal stress is essential in a variety fields such as exploitation oil and mineral resources, geothermal sector, storage radioactive liquid waste, or even CO2 capture storage. Granites are widely studied exploited these fields, they show different reactions to high-temperature cycles due mainly their high mineralogical textural heterogeneity. One features that influences most response porosity. The objective this study evaluate influence porosity when exposed treatments. For purpose, experiments were carried out on four granitoids selected by similar crystal size, but with variable proportion values, ranging from 1 6%. Two kinds tests performed: i) progressive heating 90 °C 130 determine critical threshold for damage; ii) fatigue heating-cooling up 200 °C. water transport phenomena samples characterised before after each cycle monitoring capillary uptake coupled infrared thermography. This technique allowed follow fringe migration during test evolution cooling rate index. direct assessment damage was mercury injection porosimetry, optical polarising microscopy, scanning electron microscopy. combination all results permitted establish link between temperature modification porous networks granitoids. Microcracks appeared distinctly at whose Quartz/Feldspar ratio close 1. higher temperatures, low develop microcracks first cycle. then showed stronger impact than effect mineralogy. obtained thermography detect strong variations microstructure.

Thermal conductivity measurements of laser crystals by infrared thermography. Application to Nd:doped crystals.

We present a thermal conductivity measurement method for laser crystals based on thermal mapping of the crystal face by an infrared camera. Those measurements are performed under end-pumping of the laser crystal and during laser operation. The calculation of the fraction of pump power converted into heat is therefore simplified, and it is possible to link easily the temperature in the crystal t...

Detection by Infrared Thermography of the Effect of Local Cryotherapy Exposure on Thermal Spreadin Skin

The aim of the study is to evaluate the impact of the exposure duration of local cryotherapy on the skin temperature of the thigh and of the knee. Ten subjects performed a low-intensity exercise, rested for 20 min without ice, and then rested for 5 min and 10 min with ice under the right knee. The skin temperatures were measured by infrared thermography to assess the thermal spread. The results...

Dynamic characteristics of water surface irradiated by different lamps by using infrared thermography

Abstract Human being cannot maintain her life in the earth without air and water. Especially, the nature of water has not been evident even now from scientific viewpoint. It has been reported that it is strongly influenced by the shape of cluster of water molecule, which depends upon water’s surroundings such as light, sound, magnet, heat, etc. This study clarifies the behaviors on fluctuating ...
